There is a large cellar of ancient wines here, some barrels are present others have been removed.

And some are mimics.

It is “easy” to spot mimics if you read the words on barrels. The mimics have letter like inscriptions, but actually are gibberish. One does need to know Draconic to identify the fakes.

There is a colony of cranial rats down here, they are timid however can be summoned with a gift, such as cheese.

The rats may have developed a taste for wine and can be found nibbling on grapes or drinking from spilled wine barrels.

The rats have a reputation for stealing small valuable items and could be sought out by thieves or other NPCs looking to acquire stolen goods as well as lost and found office for the town.

Name: Rascal
Appearance: Rascal is an oversized rat with shaggy, dark fur. He has beady red eyes that seem to gleam in the dim light of the wine cellar. His tail is slightly longer than that of the other rats, and he walks with a slight swagger as if he is aware of his own importance.
Personality: Rascal is the leader of the colony and is respected by the other rats. He is shrewd and cunning, always looking out for the best interests of his colony. He is not easily intimidated and will stand his ground when confronted. However, he is also pragmatic and will make deals or alliances if it benefits the colony. He has a taste for the finer things in life and can often be found nibbling on grapes or sipping from a spilled wine barrel. Despite his tough exterior, Rascal does have a soft spot for those who show kindness towards his colony.
Quirks: Rascal has a secret phrase that he will respond to when spoken by someone he trusts, allowing that person to communicate with the colony. Rascal also has a penchant for stealing small, shiny objects and hoarding them in a hidden corner of the wine cellar.

The phrase: "Let the wine flow, and the cheese melt" - This phrase could be used to coax the colony out of hiding and into the open, as it suggests that there is a bountiful feast to be had.
